How To Apply To TCA

Step 1: Attend Information Session

Don't miss the information session to gather as much information as possible before your application. Information sessions provide you with more information about the school and give participants time to ask questions.

Take note of the application dates and deadlines. There are three application periods for each school year:

  • Primary- February 1 through February 28
  • Secondary- March 1 through March 31
  • General- April through August

All information sessions and formats (in-person, online, or pre-recorded) present the same information. It is not necessary to attend more than one session. For your convenience, we have given the option of online, in-person, or a pre-recorded PowerPoint and audio session.

Spring 2026 Sessions:

  • Link to the pre-recorded information Session -PowerPoint and Audio available January 26.
  • Tallahassee Collegiate Academy at Tallahassee State College
    • Monday, January 26, 2026, in the Eagle Café, 6 p.m.
    • Monday, February 23, 2026, in the Eagle Café, 6 p.m.

Step 2: Choose Your Associate in Science Degree

Read more about the programs offered at Tallahassee State College. Applicants must choose their A.S. program as part of the application process.

Step 3: Complete Placement Testing

Applications require ACT, SAT, CLT, or PERT scores, depending on the grade level you want to enter. Explore College Readiness Testing.

Placement tests (ACT, SAT, CTL, etc) may take six or more weeks before scores are received. Plan ahead before considering when to schedule your exams.

The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) is a standardized assessment given to Florida high school students. PERT testing can be done at the TSC Testing Center. PERT scores are provided to the student at the end of the testing session. Learn More About Placement Testing.

Step 4: Request School Transcript

Your completed application must include a school transcript.

In January, after completing your first semester, request your fall semester transcript from your current school and allow time to receive it. A transcript from your school is the only grade/course verification accepted with your application. Report cards or screenshots of online grades are not permitted for admittance. The transcript does not need to be in a sealed envelope. You will scan and submit it using the online application.

Step 5: 2026 - 2027 Application

Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available to complete online beginning February 1, 2026.

Interested students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed application during the primary application period, as space at Tallahassee Collegiate High School is limited.

The application periods include all complete applications received during the designated dates. When a program or grade level's capacity is met, the remaining eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which their application was approved.

  • Primary- February 1 through February 28
  • Secondary- March 1 through March 31
  • General- April through August

Applications will continue to be accepted after the secondary application ends, and eligible applicants will be admitted or placed on a waiting list as openings allow.

Admission Requirements

Tallahassee Collegiate High School programs are open to any public, private, or home-schooled student based on the criteria outlined below.  All programs are subject to enrollment limitations based on program and grade level.

A Tallahassee Collegiate High School application with transcripts and test scores must be submitted by the established deadlines for all applicants.

All applicants are required to participate in a personal interview as part of the selection process. A personal interview adds meaningful depth to the dual enrollment application process by allowing students to showcase qualities that aren't always visible on paper - such as motivation, maturity, and communication skills. It gives educators a chance to assess readiness for college-level coursework, clarify expectations, and ensure the student is making an informed decision. Ultimately, the interview helps create a more personalized and supportive academic path.

Any student entering high school for the first time must enter as a 9th grader (freshman), no matter how many credits were earned while in middle school. Students who earn the required high school credits may apply early for graduation.
